Tall Clubs International Student Scholarships – Odd way to get for student college aid!
One of the odd scholarships for college is for those that are taller than average. It is offered by Tall Clubs International. This organization is in place to help recognize the uniqueness of those that are quite tall compared to the standards in place. It offers a common forum for them to gather and to communicate at an annual convention.
Females can apply if they are at least 5 feet, 10 inches tall. Males can apply if they are at least 6 feet, 2 inches tall. There is a $1,000 award to each applicant that meets that height guideline, who is in their first year of college at an accredited school, and who is under the age of 21. Go online to find the TCI Member Club in your area as you need to contact them for sponsorship. Applications for this tall scholarship must be received by July 1st for funds to be used that fall.
Little People of America Scholarships – only odd if your not small!
On the flip side of that, there are also odd scholarships for those that are shorter than average. Applications are taken from January 1st until April 15th, and those approved for funds will receive them for the fall. Members of Little People of America will be given preference for the funds, and those that have been diagnosed with dwarfism will too. This short scholarship fund is also offered to those that are children of members of Little People of America.
This organization strives to help those with a smaller statue to be recognized in our society. They advocate for medical care, fair work opportunities, and help with modifications to homes and vehicles to help with shorter individuals being able to take care of their own needs. The amount awarded depends on the financial needs of the winners and the amount of funds that are available through the organization that year for these odd scholarships.
Frederick & Mary F. Beckley Scholarship offers odd college scholarships for left handed students!
If you are planning to attend Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and you are left handed then this odd scholarship is one you want to apply for. Each year they offer two $1,000 scholarships for left handed students. Applicants can be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and must show both academic achievement and financial need. The sponsors of this scholarship are alumni of this college and they are also left handed. Applicants are due by July 1st for funds to be allocated in the fall.

Who says that odd scholarships can’t be fun! If you love to hunt, you may find this one is perfect for you. This is a scholarship set up to in memoriam of these two avid duck hunters. The oddball scholarship is open to high school seniors in the United States. Applicants must sign up on their website by April 1st. There are four winners annually for the scholarship funds. 3rd runner up is $200, 2nd runner up is $300, 1st runner up is $500, and grand prize is $1,500.
The Fragrance Research Fund – I smell good so please pay for my college!
This organization is offering funds to help students that are studying in the area of aromachology. They want to reward them for the research and technology that goes into developing new fragrances. Applicants must be completing a post graduate degree in aromachology at an accredited school. They must show financial need as well as academic progress. The amount of the unusual scholarship can be up to $50,000 depending on the cost of attending the program and the financial need of the winner. Applications are due by March 15th.
