There are bizarre scholarships you can acquire in an odd way that no student would ever believe existed, and are a little off the wall and out of the ordinary when it comes to harvesting student financial aid to help pay your college adventure. You can say that this is thinking out of the box when it comes with rare and remarkable ways to find scholarships and it might be considered a genious or eccentric way of getting the money needed to fund your higher education. This might be a situation where the end justifes the means.
Why?
Because these types of scholarships are unconventional and odd to say the least. Many of these bizarre college scholarships don’t seem to last too long either. For instance there was a Pagan scholarship from the Free Spirit Gathering at http://www.freespiritgathering.org which is a Pagan organization. As strange as it may seem they used to award a $500.00 scholarship towards higher learning.
A goofy aspect of this scholarship is it’s open to people who aren’t Pagan as well. I wonder how many non-Pagans have won in the past? They indicate that the character, ideals and values of the individual are more important than religious affiliation. Being Pagan after-all means that a person has religious beliefs other then the world main stream ones. (as of 9/11/2012 I could not find any information to lead me to believe that their bizarre scholarship still exist). But I’m sure there are other Pagan organizations which sponsor one.
Bizarre dance drawing different scholarships!
Another bizarre scholarship for an odd criteria being used to award a scholarship is from the American Harlequin Corporation which provides various floors used for dancing. They have a uncanny scholarship for dance which can be applied to online. Whats irregular about this curious scholarship is that it’s based on a random drawing and not on the grounds of good dancing. The company states that it’s not in a position to judge on the artistic merits of fashionable dancing or the financial position of applicants, so they will base it on the luck of the draw!
Even though this dance scholarship is odd, this company’s basis for selecting applicants is noble. They state that “in these uncertain economic times, our hope is to offer a little financial help to some lucky young people who wish to continue in whatever form of dance help fulfills their lives”.

Another cool bizarre scholarships are from JIF – the peanut butter company known for their delicious tasting peanut butter. They have three prizes – one for $25,000, four for $2,500 and five $50.00 winners. All you have to do is create a unique peanut butter sandwich based on creativity, taste, visual appeal and ease of preparation to win or place. This seems like a fun contest for sure especially if you like peanut butter sandwichews to begin with, but it’s a bizarre way to win peanut butter scholarship monies when you especially compare it with the criteria used for getting merit scholarships.
Bizarre surfing scholarships for those oddball surfer dudes!
Yes there are spacey scholarships for those odd surfer dudes. They can win monies for college in their own outlandish way – by surfing for it. The Eastern Surfing Association offers the Marsh Scholarship Program which surfers can apply to for a chance to win.
The Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation also has a surfing Scholarship too which awards $1,000 in unconventional scholarship money.

Holy cow is this a kooky scholarship or what?
