Some people assume that you or your parents must be a member of the Elks to be able to obtain money from them for college, but you don’t. They offer 500 distinguished scholarships every year, and those amounts range from $1,000 to $15,000 each. The outstanding scholarships can also be renewed for up to four years if the student is making academic progress.
This is open to all high school students and the funds will be held until they graduate and enroll in an accredited college. Applications are due by March 23rd. The Elks National Foundation strives to help communities to be better through the local chapters. They are involved in a wide variety of events to help others. Applications should be submitted to your local chapter and then they will be forwarded to the National foundation.

Winners will receive $3,000 for college, and it can be renewed for up to four years of undergraduate school and two years of graduate school. To be renewed, the student has to be enrolled in an accredited program full time and in good academic standing.
